I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders.I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. ~ Psalm 9:1
Today was my last visit to the Huntsman Infusion Room (Lord willing, for good)! It was a busy day for the hospital, but despite some delays I was able to head home before dark. I had the opportunity to ring the famous "end of treatment" gong and receive my completion certificate, along with the softest crocheted blanket ever. To be honest, I felt a little guilty celebrating this milestone while being surrounded by so many others in the Infusion Room who looked much more uncomfortable than I ever felt during treatment. Thankfully, this inspires me to pray even more for all those faces and others who are enduing cancer treatment. May God comfort and strengthen them all with the same comfort He has offered me over the past year.

The PA in my oncologist's office said I have decreased the chance of recurrence dramatically by making it through one year with no sign of melanoma. If I continue the same trend in year two, my chance of recurrence reduces another 80% and then keeps shrinking yearly. I will have quarterly scans for the upcoming year (the next one in November). So, you probably won't hear much from me between those scans.
Thank you all so much for walking this journey with us. We are blessed beyond words at the precious family and friends He has sent to support, help and encourage us along the way.
We love you all!
Praises:
- No significant side-effects from treatment. That rash I mentioned last time did go away and didn't return-thanks for praying!
- One year cancer free!
Prayer Requests:
- That the cancer would not return-ever!
- That God would keep this journey fresh in my mind to increase my gratitude for Him and remind me to pray for others on the same journey.
- Continued opportunities to share hope with people I encounter who have had a similar journey.
- Pray that God will use this experience to remind me more about who Jesus is and use it to bring Him glory in my life.
